We’ve featured a lot of unique Airbnbs in the where to stay section of this site over the years.
However, none, and I mean none, have had as many top-notch reviews as this place. At the time of writing, there are 472 reviews, averaging at 4.89/5.
Views, reviews and quirky interior aside, this gorgeous little wooden chalet in West Cork is also ridiculously friendly on the wallet. Dive on in below!
A quirky gaff with views of Bantry Bay
You’ll find this gorgeous little chalet in County Cork where it’s finely plonked on a site that overlooks Bantry Bay.
This place is a mighty little base for those of you that fancy exploring a chunk of West Cork with a group (it sleeps up to 5) of friends.
It’s surrounded by incredible scenery, it’s a stone’s throw from many of West Cork’s top attractions and it’s insanely cheap (more below!).
A grand aul gaff for friends
Imagine chilling in the sunroom above with a beer as the sun starts to drop, or with a coffee in the morning as the sun starts to rise – magic!
This place has plenty of cosy spots where you can kick-back and wind down with friends after a hard day of exploring.
If you arrive when the weather’s fine, there’s a nice outdoor seating area where you can chill and soak up views of the bay.

A slice of solitude a stone’s throw from buzzy Bantry
If you’re looking to step slightly off the beaten path with friends but you still want to be close to pubs and restaurants, this place should tickle your fancy.
You’ll have the best of both worlds here; the chalet is situated down a quiet road, surrounded by a finely manicured garden, which guarantees solitude.
It’s also only a 5-minute drive from Bantry where you’ll find a clatter of pubs and places to eat. It’s also a short spin from Bantry House (above), which is well worth a visit.
How the host describes it
‘The Cabin is a beautiful, welcoming natural space that is always warm and bright. Situated on the famous walking path; The Goats Path and The Wild Atlantic Way.
The cabin is off the main road and enjoys a peaceful and tranquil setting overlooking the sea. It is within two miles of Bantry and one mile from The Westlodge Hotel and Leisure Centre. Guest access
The house is fully detached and is on a quiet road less than five minutes drive from Bantry town centre, where there are shops, pubs, restaurants, banks, a cinema and a very good outdoor market every Friday.
Our house where we live is just next door, so if you need anything, from a bowl of sugar, to advice on where to go and what to do, we’re right here! There is also secure parking and storage space in our garage for bikes/strollers etc.’
How much a night will set you back
I’ve popped in a weekend in January (assuming that we’ll be back to normality by then, which is no guarantee) for 3 friends sharing. Here’s how much it works out at:
- Total: €208
- Total per person: €69.33

- If you use the link above we’ll make a tiny commission that goes towards the running of this website and you won’t pay anything extra (cheers if you do – it’s appreciated!)
