In search of the best restaurants in Tralee? Our Tralee restaurants guide will make your belly happy!
As the largest town in County Kerry, Tralee has some great places to head for a bite to eat (there’s also plenty of great things to do in Tralee, too!).
The town sits at the edge of the Dingle Peninsula and is well worth a stop, despite not attracting the same crowds as some nearby towns.
The best restaurants in Tralee
Many of the best restaurants in Tralee can be found clustered along the town’s busy main street and its immediate surrounds.
You’ll find everything amongst the culinary scene in Tralee from traditional pubs to delicious seafood bistros and excellent Italian restaurants.
1. Croi Restaurant Tralee
Croi is one of the most popular places to eat in Tralee. This traditional Irish restaurant dishes out high quality food sourced from local producers.
The cosy candlelit tables offer the perfect atmosphere for intimate dinners with family and friends while the meals are impeccably presented.
Popular choices from this place are the fillet steak, pan seared scallops and duck breast. Don’t worry if you’re vegetarian though because they also have a great dedicated menu for meat-free eaters.
The restaurant is just outside of the centre of town but still within walking distance of most of the main attractions.
2. Kirby’s Brogue Inn
This traditional Irish pub is a true landmark in Tralee. The lively bar and restaurant is located right in the middle of town and stands out in its brightly painted exterior.
Kirby’s is open throughout the day but it really comes alive in the evenings when you’ll more than likely hear live music entertaining the crowd. It’s famed for its energetic atmosphere, but it also has some of the best food that you can find in town.
The menu features a large selection of Irish steaks as well as other popular meals like lasagne, salmon fillet and beef stroganoff.

Just a 10-minute drive along the coast towards the small village of Spa, you’ll come across this fantastic seafood restaurant that has been run by the McGrath family since the 1980s.
The popular country pub is known for its incredible fresh seafood that is served with a slightly French twist.
You can enjoy oysters, mussels and fish fillets straight from the sea with their seafood chowder, seafood pie and grilled oysters being popular choices off the menu.
