You + 6 Friends Can Stay In This Seafront House In Carlingford For €60 Per Person P/N

Finding unique accommodation in Ireland for a group of 5+ can be tricky.

There’s no end to the number of bog-standard places to stay out there, but when it comes to more unusual accommodation, your options are more limited.

Places like this deeeeadly seafront home in the buzzy little town of Carlingford in County Louth are pretty damn rare.

And ones that work out as cheap as this one (info at the end) are even rarer. Dive on in below and find out everything you need to know.

Welcome to Wood Quay

wood quay bungalow

That’s it there, just beside the water

You’ll find this gorgeous seafront bungalow in the heart of the medieval town of Carlingford in County Louth where it offers a very unique accommodation experience.

On one hand, this bungalow is a very short walk to Carlingford’s lively pubs and on the other, it’s finely plonked right on the seafront.

Thanks to its enviable location, the bungalow offers breath-taking views out across the beautiful Carlingford Lough and over beyond to the mighty mountains of mourne.

The building was built in 1840 and was actually originally a grain store for the nearby Carlingford railway station.

Sea views and incredible group chill-out areas

Imagine kicking back with a group of friends in the conservatory area there in the picture above as the sun starts to drop while you chat away and toast a day of exploring with a beer. Magic!

Wood Quay is perfectly set up for a weekend away with friends. There’s space to sleep 7 people comfortably and there plenty of big communal areas for you all to chill out together.

The bungalow also comes with its own private pier which, if you’re not afraid of a bit of cold water, can be used as a swimming platform.

Inside the house

The interior of Wood Quay is nice and cosy. The Long Room (pictured above) is a gorgeous high ceilinged room that comes equipped with a large stone-faced fireplace.

There’s also a fully kitted out kitchen which you can use if you don’t fancy heading into the town for breakfast or dinner.

How much a night will set you back

the rooms

I popped in a Friday to a Sunday in August (there’s a 2-night minimum stay) for 7 people sharing. Here’s how much it works out at:

  • Total for two nights: €842
  • Total per person: €120
  • Total per person per night: €60
  • Book a night in this place here
  • If you use the link above we’ll make a tiny commission that goes towards the running of this website and you won’t pay anything extra (cheers if you do – it’s appreciated!)

So, if you stay at Wood Quay on your own or with just one other person, it isn’t cheap, but if there’s a few of you staying it works out pretty damn reasonable.
