Welcome To Doolin Village Lodges: An Ideal Getaway (If You Love Class Views + A Quirky Interior)

The very swanky Doolin Village Lodges (Elfin lodge) are arguably the most unique accommodation Doolin has to offer.

Not only do they offer fine views (one of which can be enjoyed from the bath!) out over the surrounding countryside, as the name suggests, they’re also based in the mighty village of Doolin in County Clare.

If you’re not familiar with Doolin, it’s a buzzy little village that’s a stone’s throw from some of the best natural attractions in the county.

Below, you’ll get a nosey at Elfin Cottage, some very swanky accommodation that’s owned by the folks at Doolin Village Lodges.

Doolin Village Lodges (Elfin Lodge)

Elfin Lodge is one of several gorgeous cottages that Doolin Village Lodges have on offer, but it’s easily the pick of the bunch.

The building that now houses the very fancy Elfin Lodge started off its life as a farmers cottage many moons ago. 

Since then, it’s appearance has changed quite a bit. The owners have carefully restored Elfin Lodge with the expertise of local craftsmen. They’ve also added in some very luxurious decor.

The view from Elfin Lodge in Doolin is mighty

Good God imagine flaking out in one of those squishy chairs in the hour before sunset with a beer, watching the sun drop over the surrounding countryside!

This living area is arguably the best feature of Elfin Lodge. It’s nice and spacious, there’s heaps of natural light pouring in and the view would knock you on your arse.

The whole set-up is made all the mightier by the gorgeous wood-burning stove. Throw in the fact that it’s a short spin from some of the best restaurants in Doolin and you’re laughing.

The name ‘Elfin Lodge’, well, the ‘Elfin’ part, anyway, translates to ‘having an otherworldly magical quality or charm’, and this is reflected in the cottages interior.

The cottage has two large double bedrooms (which makes it perfect for two couples or four well-acquainted friends) and a well-decked out kitchen.

The swanky copper tub that you saw above is based in the master bedroom, so you’ll have to flip (or fight…) to decide who gets to kip there.

Doolin Village Lodges are perfectly kitted out for self-catering

If you don’t fancy dropping into one of the restaurants nearby (or one of the many pubs in Doolin), you’re in luck – there’s everything you need for self-catering at Elfin Lodge.

The kitchen boasts everything from an oven to a dishwasher while the dining area sits 4 people comfortably.

Or, you can kick back in front of the stove and soak up the views while you munch away.

Things to do near Elfin Lodge in Doolin

There’s a crazy amount to do near each of the Doolin Village Lodges if you do happen to spend a couple of nights in one.

From the Cliffs of Moher and the Doolin Cave to the Aran Islands, the Doolin Cliff walk, Doonagore Castle and the Burren, you’ll be kept entertained from morning to night.
