Bed And Breakfast Galway: 11 Of The Best B&Bs In Galway (Ye’ll Love In 2024)

If you’re in search of the best B&Bs in Galway, you’ll find ’em below.

Now, when it comes to B&Bs Galway, like many parts of Ireland, is home to it’s fair share. In fact, many of the best places to stay in Galway are B&Bs and guesthouses.

If you read our guide to the best things to do in Galway, you’ll know that, as a creature of fierce habit, I visit this county 2 or 3 times per year (2020 was an exception…).

I’ve stayed in many different Galway B&Bs over the years, and I’ve a load of family and friends that have stayed in others.

The Galway Bed and Breakfast guide below is a mash up of places I’ve stayed in and liked and places my family and/or friends have stayed in and raved about.

Bed and Breakfast Galway: Our favourite B&B in the county

best b&b Galway has to offer

Before we get into the main guide, I want to call out one particular Galway B&B, as it’s ridiculously good.

It’s so good that I’d argue it could go toe-to-toe with some of the best luxury and 5 star hotels in Galway.

The best bed and breakfast Galway has to offer, in my opinion, can be found a little outside Galway City, in Salthill, where it overlooks the beautiful Galway Bay.

I’m talking, of course, about Sea Breeze Lodge B&B in Galway. This swanky bed and breakfast offers guests all of the luxuries that you come to expect from a luxury B&B.

Visitors will be treated to a full-size bath, a rainfall shower, mood lighting, in-room entertainment and more.

Interestingly enough, the Sea Breeze Lodge was the first bed and breakfast in Galway to be granted a coveted International 5-Star award in 2017 and 2018.

So, now that we’ve got what we believe is the best bed and breakfast Galway has to offer out of the way, it’s time to take you to some brilliant other guesthouses.

I’ve picked out 7 Galway B&Bs that are known for top-notch service, impeccable interiors, cleanliness, and location and that won’t fail to delight those that visit.

1. The Stop Bed and Breakfast Galway

The Stop is a solid option for those of you looking for a reasonably central B&B that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg.

This spot is a handy 10-minute walk from the centre of Galway and just half a kilometre from the coast, so you’ve the best of both worlds location wise.

This B&B dates back to 1930s and offers stylish rooms with a contemporary feel throughout.

Expect all the usual amenities like WiFi, etc. Visitors can expect a tasty breakfast each morning made from locally sourced produce.

Sharamore House is a family-run bed and breakfast in Clifden located located a 6-minute drive from the village (there’s plenty of great pubs and restaurants in Clifden).

Owned by hosts John and Sue, this stylish B&B offers nicely decorated bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, TV’s, and light refreshments.

According to reviews, the breakfast here (includes everything from homemade pancakes to smoked salmon) is the business.

Popular local attractions such as Kylemore Abbey and the Sky Road are a short spin from Sharamore, which make it one of the best B&Bs in Galway for a bit of exploring.

You’ll find the Eyre Square Townhouse at the heart of Galway City in, unsurprisingly enough, Eyre Square.

This Galway Bed and Breakfast boasts 10 uniquely decorated bedrooms with state of the art facilities.

The beauty of this B&B is its location – if you spend the night here you’ll be a stone’s throw from many of the best pubs in Galway along with plenty of shops, restaurants, and much more.

If you’re on the lookout for a bed and breakfast in Galway a stone’s throw from the sea, head for Errisbeg House in Roundstone.

As you might guess from the name, the Errisbeg House B&B is situated just below the Errisbeg Mountain – the hike here is one of the tricker walks in Galway.

This Galway B&B is part of the Connemara Garden Trail, so its three acres of garden feature sculptures and statues, as well as beautiful flowers and plants.

Each room has a private bathroom and distinctive, antique furniture with views over the extensive gardens. Ask for a tour of them.

According to Booking.com reviews (1,080 with an average score of 9.1), our next property is one of the best B&Bs Galway has to offer.

St. Judes Lodge, has over – it’s clean, the service is top-notch and it’s nice and central, with the walk from the front door to Eyre Square taking a leisurely 10 minutes.

Visitors here can expect big clean rooms, a great location and friendly service that’ll make you want to return time and time again.

Our second last Galway Bed and Breakfast is Ash Grove House. To be honest, I’d nearly visit here to give the breakfast a crack.

There are homemade pancakes, Galway Bay smoked salmon, and fresh fruit on offer each morning along with a hearty, traditional Irish breakfast.

You’ll find this place in a quiet residential location, less than a 10-minutes walk from the beautiful Galway Cathedral and only 5 minutes from NUI Galway.

7. Ard Einne (Inis Mor)

If you’re in search of some of the more remote B&Bs Galway has to offer, Ard Einne on Inis Mor Island is a great shout.

Early risers here can make the most of the stunning sunsets that can be soaked up from many parts of this 3-star family-run B&B.

Located in the remote southeast of Inis Mor, it offers tranquility and unspoiled views, yet remains just 3 km from Kilronan.

Mini bus services from the pier can bring you to the B&B, and you can even have your rental bikes dropped off here.
