1. Pods by the Atlantic (Mayo)

Finely positioned on the North Mayo coast in Ballycastle, Ceide Glamping affords guests to spellbinding views out towards Downpatrick Head and Dun Briste sea stack.

The 6 pods here are a skip from the sea and guests can relax in the evening while gazing at the stars and listening to the waves crash (expect clear skies due to a lack of light pollution).

These are some of the better-equipped glamping pods in Ireland, with each boasting an ensuite toilet, kitchenette and TV. The views, however, are what makes this place #1 in my eyes.

2. Glorious Island Glampsite (Donegal)

If you’re looking for secluded spots to go glamping, take the 15-minute ferry journey from Burtonport across to Arranmore Island – it’s here that you’ll find pods with views that’ll knock-you-sideways!

Located on an elevated site, their position ensures that guests are treated to sea and mountain views both from the comfort of their pillow and from the spacious terrace area.

Inside the pods you’ll find a small private bathroom with a shower along with a kitchenette. If you fancy a bit of glamping with a hot tub in Ireland, you’ll be happy to hear that 2 of the lodges have them!

3. A Cracker in Clifden (Galway)

I feel like every time I write about Clifden’s Fernwood, they have added a new addition to the glampsite (this time it’s the rope bridge that takes you on a very unique ramble through the forest!).

There are a number of different places to stay here, including a spacious Treehouse Dome, a Stilt House (very elegantly designed) and a tiny home called the Studio.

Fernwood also boasts plenty of facilities on-site, like a plunge pool and a sauna. Oh, and there’s a lake where you can head for a dip, too.

Featured recently in our guide to the best places to stay in Ireland, Cork’s Goleen Harbour is one to watch. This is an eco-experience that’s set on a 38-acre site right next to the ocean.

Goleen has an awful lot going for it. For starters, you have the accommodation – there are GeoDomes, EcoCabins and Bell Tents, with views out to Cape Clear and beyond. Then there’s the volume of things to do.

Goleen is a 15-minute drive from Mizen Head and a 10-minute drive from Barleycove – one of the best beaches in Ireland! If you want to combine glamping in Ireland with a Wild Atlantic adventure, look no further.

One of the more popular spots for family glamping in Ireland is located on Inis Mor Island in Galway – there are pods here that sleep either 4 or 6, making it great for groups!

Aran Islands Glamping is located in an enviable position a stone’s throw from the sea. On dry days you can admire the sea from the terrace area and, on those often wet days, you can see the sea from your couch.

Some of the best glamping in Ireland can be found on the wild and wonderful Mullet Peninsula in North Mayo, a place home to spectacular beaches and some great walking trails.

The Belmullet Glamping pods offer magnificent sea views right from the pod’s comfy double bed. There’s also a toilet and shower inside and plenty of space outside for those fine days.

Views and comfy interior aside, the biggest thing this place has going for it is location – if you’re a fan of the outdoors, there are heaps of trails nearby (like the Erris Head Loop) and countless beaches.

7. Lake Side Sleeping (Donegal)

This guide to the best glamping Ireland has to offer has been updated 10 – 15 times, with many glampsites coming and going. One of the few that have been here since day 1 is Lough Mardal Lodge.

Located in Ballintra (10 minutes from Donegal Town), this is a prime example of a glampsite getting everything right. Location wise, it’s secluded, but still a short drive to some of the West’s best surf spots.

Its yurts are well-appointed, with super king beds and wood-burners and many offer views over the lake. Then there’s the large communal area for cooking and chilling with friends and family. A memorable stay awaits.

What makes this place unique is that it has a spa – a forest spa at that, complete with sauna, waterfall showers and a chill out area. There are several accommodation options here.

There’s the Kingfishers Residance and the Doe’s Den, both of which have private hot tubs. Located right by the river, under the shadow of Slieve Donard, you won’t find many glampsites in Ireland as scenic as this!

There are 3 accommodation options here; first is the Cabins, which are located in the site’s lower meadow and that boast glorious views, king-size beds, a kitchenette and an ensuite with shower.

Then there’s the luxury Lodges and Suites, each of which is spacious, has a large comfy bed, a kitchen and everything else you could want from a bit of romantic glamping in Ireland.

One of the best glamping spots in Ireland for those with cash to splash is the Hideaway at Kerry’s Dromquinna Manor.

This is luxury glamping at its finest! You’ll find the Hideaway in a quiet corner of the 50-acre estate, in a scenic spot that overlooks beautiful Kenmare Bay.

The Hideaway has been kitted-out with a king-size bed and the type of furnishings you’d get in one of Ireland’s top 5 star hotels. You’ll be served breakfast each morning, too.

3. Chléire Haven Glamping (Cork)

Very few places offer camping in Ireland like Chléire Haven on Cape Clear Island. You’ll need to take a 40-minute ferry ride from Baltimore to reach this slice of rural paradise.

However, when you do, you’ll find some of the best glamping Ireland has to offer, with spacious yurts (sleep up to 6) that gaze out over the ocean and nearby cliffs.

Each yurt comes equipped with a gas cooker, solar powered lighting, log stove, beds and bean bags. As there’s very little light pollution here, it’s the perfect spot for star-gazing.

4. Slow Cabins in the Burren (Galway)

Tucked away on a 40-acre site in the Galway side of the Burren is Slow Cabins (a short spin from Kinvara). Tap play on the video above for a sense of what to expect.

Each of the cabins here boast a Scandinavian/Japanese minimalist design and have large windows that let natural light flood the compact space. Inside, there’s a waterfall shower, a kitchen, a log burner and a queen-size bed.

One of the things that make Slow Cabins one of the more unique glamping spots in Ireland is it’s emphasis on ‘switching off’. They use a network blocking phone box, so prepare to be digitally detoxed!

5. Portsalon Luxury Camping (Donegal)

One of the original spots for luxury glamping in Ireland is the adults-only Portsalon Camping, which has been welcoming ‘Glampers’ since 2014.

It’s situated in a prime location that overlooks the spectacular Portsalon Beach and Bay and a short spin from the likes of Fanad Head and the Inishowen Peninsula.

6. Finn Lough Domes (Fermanagh)

Finn Lough can be found in many guides to the best glamping in Ireland, but what many articles fail to mention is what else is on offer here, aside from the bubble domes!

They’ve gone all-in on the forest spa buzz at Finn Lough, offering an ‘Elements Trail’ (takes guests through treatment cabins in the forest over the course of 2 hours) and a ‘Shoreline Spa’ with hot tubs and saunas.

Then there’s the bubble domes – there’s a large one (it has 2 bubbles) and a small one (just the 1 bubble…). Both offer peace, quiet and panoramic forest views.

7. Ballyvolane House Glamping (Cork)

If you fancy spending the night somewhere quirky but you don’t fancy cooking for yourself, Ballyvolane is worth considering (there’s a restaurant on-site).

Located on a finely manicured estate, you can spend the morning on one of the woodland walks and the afternoon flaked out in your cosy tent.

You’ll get breakfast served to you in the main house and there’s also everything from tennis courts if you fancy some exercise to hammocks if you fancy chilling-out.

1. Wild Meadow Huts (Clare)

There’s an awful lot to like about Clare’s Wild Meadow Huts. You’ll find them in Doolin, about a 10-minute walk from McDermott’s Pub.

This is another of the adults-only glamping spots in Ireland and it’s located in a wild flower meadow offering views out towards the Cliffs of Moher.

The huts have king-size beds, private ensuite bathrooms and showers and a kitchen. There’s also a relaxation area on-site with a hot and cold traditional Japanese soak tub!

5. Willowbrook Glamping (Roscommon)

One of the quirkier spots for glamping in Ireland with a hot tub is Willowbrook in Roscommon. You’ll find it in a tranquil setting right by the banks of the River Lung.

You’ve a few options here accommodation wise – for those that want a spot with a hot tub, the ‘Yurty Ahern’ and ‘Yurty and the Tramp’ tents have their own private tubs.

The yurts can sleep up to 6 as well, which is handy. There is a communal kitchen, toilet block and shower area and guests have access to a wood-fired pizza oven, too!

Facility wise, there’s 400 acres of grounds to explore, a 20m swimming pool, playgrounds, a gym, a leisure centre, a football pitch and more.

Located a short drive from Athlone, you’ve a choice of several quirky sleeps here, including numerous buses, a stage coach, a shephard’s hut and a pod.

There’s also plenty to do in the area – on the grounds there’s a 1.5km walking trail and close by there’s the Baysports waterpark.
