If you’re thinking about heading away this month or next but you don’t fancy breaking the bank, you’ll find the below guide handy.

It’s packed with unique (think cabins, pods, luxury homes) places to stay in Ireland where a weekend in October or November costs less than €129 per person.

That’s not bad going! You’ll find everything from fancy gaffs in Kinsale with unreeeeeal views to cosy cabins tucked away in the mountains below. G’wan. Dive on in!

1. ‘The Hide’ in Sligo (€176 for a weekend in Oct. or Nov)

Known as ‘the Hide’, this very slick little cabin in rural North Sligo is a stone’s throw from an endless number of things to see and do (you can see more of this place right here).

The Hide comes equipped with everything you’ll need for a weekend away, including an outdoor patio area where you can kick back with a beer after a long day of exploring.

If you’re after a bit of peace and quiet but you also want to be able to visit restaurants and shops, this place should do the trick (it’s only a 20-minute spin to Sligo Town).

2. An alpaca lodge in Kenmare (€234 for a weekend in Oct. or Nov.)

This gorgeous 19th-century building in County Kerry is the ideal place for some rest and relaxation among some lovely alpacas. Alpaca Lodge B&B sleeps 2 and it’s a warm and cosy spot.

It comes decked out with a king-size bed, a breakfast nook and en-suite bathroom. The property owners also offer an alpaca trekking experience to guests.

3. A class aul cabin in Carlingford (€232 for a weekend in Nov.)

I’d happily live in this next place. You’ll find this gorgeous little cabin in Carlingford in County Louth, where it offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

Known as ‘Tom’s Cabin’, it sleeps two and it’s finely located right next to Slieve Foye, which is a fine aul spot for an early morning hike (you can nip into Carlingford for breakfast, after!). You can book a night or see more here.

4. The Granary in Waterford (€211 for a weekend in Nov.)

If you’re on the lookout for a place by the sea to escape to for a couple of nights, this next place should tickle your fancy.

Known as ‘The Granary’, you’ll find this newly refurbished spot on the grounds of the historic Annestown House in County Waterford, a stone’s throw from many of the counties top attractions.

5. A cool little cabin in Wicklow (€211 for a weekend in Nov.)

We’re off to Valleymount in Wicklow, next, to see a compact cabin that’s conveniently located a handy 20-minute drive to Glendalough and a handier 15 minutes from Blessington.

The cabin sleeps two and comes with everything you’ll need for a comfy weekend away, like a luxury memory foam mattress, a shower with hot water and all the gear you’ll need for cooking up a storm.

6. A quaint Galway cottage (€194 for a weekend in Oct. or Nov.)

If you’re looking for unique places to rest your head for a few nights, this place should tick all of your boxes.

Yes, this quaint little cottage in Galway comes with its very own built-in pub (here are loads more Airbnbs with private pubs in Ireland). Pub aside, this is a gorgeous little gaff that’ll you’ll be able to kick back in and relax in comfort.

7. A very funky apartment in Clifden (€258 for a weekend in Nov.)

So, randomly enough, I stayed in this apartment in Clifden over the summer, and it was class. It used to be, if memory serves correct, a hostel.

It’s now a very quirky little apartment that has a balcony (with a bath that’s been converted into a seat) that offers lovely views out over the surrounding countryside.

There’s also a hammock. It sleeps two (although there’s a fold-out bed, also) and it’s right in the heart of Clifden Town. Book a night or see more here.

8. Glamping in the mountains (€187 for a weekend in Oct. or Nov.)

If you’re looking to dip your toe into a bit of glamping, this gorgeous Yurt in the Galtee Mountains is just the job (see our guide to the best Glamping in Ireland for more places like this).

The yurt stands at an impressive 21 feet in size and it comes with everything from a BBQ and a fridge to continental breakfast (included in the price) and more.

9. A home with views near the Cliffs of Moher (€246 for a weekend in Nov.)

If you fancy exploring a chunk of Clare over the winter months, this Airbnb in Doolin is a solid little spot to base yourself from. It’s also a handy 15-minute walk from the Cliffs of Moher.

This place sleeps 4 and it comes with a fully kitted out kitchen. If you don’t fancy cooking, Doolin is 5.8 km down the road.

10. A seaside retreat with a view in Cork (€187 for a weekend in Nov.)

If escaping the hustle and bustle (and the general pain in the hole that’s been brought on by ‘the yoke’ that I’m not going to name…), this place should be right up your street.

Located in Oysterhaven in Cork, this little cabin that sleeps 2 commands mighty views out over the nearby bay.

11. A beaut of a spot in Bray (€234 for a weekend in Oct.)

If you’re hankering for a wallop of sea air, this one-bedroom cabin with a grand big deck offers uninterrupted views across the sea near Bray Head.

It has everything you need for a self-catering weekend away, like a king-size bed, Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchenette with slimline dishwasher, microwave and fridge.

If you’re looking to do a bit of hiking over the Autumn and Winter, this place should be right up your street.

You’ll find our next Airbnb, known as the ‘Sugar Pod’, in Kilmacanogue in Wicklow, where it’s nestled between the peaks of the Great and Little Sugarloaf Mountains.

13. An absolute cracker in Kenmare (from €152 for a long weekend in Nov.)

If you’re fond of a fine view, then you’ll love this isolated little spot in Kenmare in County Kerry. This bright little home offers wonderful views out over Kenmare Bay and beyond.

If you visit when the weather’s fine, you can kick-back and enjoy the views from the seating area outside. If you visit when it’s lashing down, the views from inside are just as good.

Next up is a gorgeous little cabin in Kinvarra in County Galway that I’d happily live in! This place sleeps 4, the interior is funky and the reviews are class.

In fact, the whole place looks a bit like something you’d see hidden away in the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is plonked right next to the Burren, so it’s perfect for those looking to explore.

15. South Kerry Glamping (€177 for a weekend in Nov.)

If you’re in search of quirky Airbnbs on the Ring of Kerry, then this popular glampsite should tickle your fancy.

This little pod has room for up to 4 guests and boasts a recently refurbished kitchen, a bathroom and a lounge area.

16. A stunning cottage in Wicklow (€234 for a weekend in Nov.)

Welcome to the absolute beat of a cottage known as ‘Cuan’ in Kilquiggan in County Wicklow. This finely designed and kitted out cottage sleeps 4 and provides a very quirky base to explore Wicklow from.

If you fancy giving glamping a lash, this place should tickle your fancy. You’ll find this luxury pod hidden away in Beaufort in the beautiful Reeks District in County Kerry.

It sleeps 4 (1 double bed and 1 sofa bed) and the reviews on Airbnb are top-notch. This is one of a number of pods located in the Farmyard Lane property.

18. A barn in Kilkenny (€182 for a weekend in Sept.)

You’ll find this colourful little barn in Kilkenny, where it sleeps 2. Now, although it’s in Kilkenny, it’s a handy spin to Waterford City and the start of the Waterford Greenway (10-minute drive).

This gorgeous little gaff has a minimal design and comes equipped with everything you’ll need for a class self-catering weekend away, from a BBQ and WiFi to a TV and much more.

We’re off to Ballymacarbry in County Waterford, next, for a romantic glamping hideaway at the heart of a clatter of stunning scenery.

Located in the highly reviewed Nire Valley Glamping, the accommodation here is a vintage horse lorry. Yes, a horse lorry. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more unique stay.

20. A pod in Kinsale with mighty views (€176 for a weekend in Nov.)

A special, self-contained pod located high above Kinsale harbour, this unique Airbnb is a wonderful spot for couples visiting the charming town of Kinsale in Cork.

Small but perfectly designed, the bedroom is actually quite large whilst the bathroom and kitchen have all the amenities you will need to enjoy a relaxing stay.

A big plus of this place is the central location, which is just a short walk from Bulman, a bar/restaurant that was recently voted the finest in all of Ireland and now boasts a Michelin recommendation. Book a night or see more here.

21. Ed’s Railway Sleeper in Kerry (€217 for a weekend in Nov.)

If you’re after a bit of peace and quiet, this warm and cosy chalet in County Kerry will be right up your street.

Finely plonked within 5 acres of meadow and trees, it offers gorgeous views of the Slieve mish Mountains along with some local farmland.

22. Big Mick’s Cottage in Kilkenny (€222 for a weekend in Nov.)

Just 30 minutes from Waterford but also close to Kilkenny and Clonmel, Big Mick’s Cottage is a cosy and contemporary getaway in the heart of southeast Ireland.

With room for 6 guests, this carefully restored home is close to the Curraghmore estate and the Comeragh mountains.

Guests are also perfectly situated to visit the beautiful Mahon Falls as well as lakes at Coumshingaun and Slievenamon.

23. A postcard-perfect thatch cottage in Galway (€258 for a weekend in Nov.)

Next up is a gorgeous little thatch cottage located in the lovely little village of Spiddal in County Galway. Now, one thing to note in advance is that this place isn’t suitable for kids, according to the host.

The cottage, with its gorgeous whitewashed walls, it’s cosy rooms and its traditional design sleeps 4 comfortably.

24. A, eh, red bus in Sligo… (€105 for a Friday night in Nov.)

Yes. A big. Red. Bus! This is a bit of a random one, to say the least, and, to be honest, when I first saw it I thought the inside would be grim (as can sometimes be the case with novelty Airbnbs).

However, that couldn’t have been further from the truth. There’s a luxurious décor and many quirky features that’ll make spending a night here a memorable one (see it here)!

You’ll find this very unique Airbnb tucked away in Tobercurry in County Sligo. Known as the ‘Ox Mountain Red Bus’, it sleeps 5 and the interior is better than a fair few 4 star hotels I’ve stayed in over the years.
