Some of my happiest trips around Ireland revolve around spinning through the mountainous terrain of this magical place.
Regardless of the weather, or time of year, a visit to Connemara never fails to leave you a little weak at the knees.
Here’s what it’s like up close and personal!
Fancy exploring Connemara? Check out our 3-day road trip that explores the best of what Galway has to offer!
The gorgeous town of Clifden from afar
A mountain (or is it a big ass hill ??) that looks like it’s about to eat the houses below
Kicking back on a boat as it sails along the Killary Fjord
I need this house… sharpish! ??
The beautiful Ballynahinch Castle from the sky
Stop-you-in-your-track Views from Clifden’s Sky Road
Lost at the foot of a hill in Connemara National Park
Green peaks and icy blue water by the bucket load
The views you’ll be treated to as you spin along the Sky Road
A grand spot for a drive, a cycle, a run or a stroll
A place that often feels other-worldly as you spin through it
Mountains that hug the road at every bend
Breath-taking from the ground and a little bit bonkers from above
A clatter of mountains on the horizon
I can picture myself kicking-back here with a coffee, happily sipping away and absorbing the view that stretches as far as the eye can see
The view that awaits those that conquer Diamond Hill in the National Park
The magnificent Kylemore Lough – a bit like something from a land that time forgot
Reflecting… while admiring the reflections
Snow capped peaks poking up from between the mountains
And that’s a wrap.
Have you visited Connemara? What was your favourite corner of this wonderful corner of Ireland to explore?
