A charming coastal town in County Kerry, the buzzy little town of Dingle needs little introduction.

With its traditional pubs (see our guide to the best pubs in Dingle), food festivals, and waterfront restaurants, this lively town is one of the best destinations in Ireland for a weekend away.

Regardless of whether you wish to dine at classy restaurants in Dingle or in places known for dishing out tasty cheap eats, you’ll find plenty of recommendations in the guide below.

I’ve spent many a weekend in Dingle, eating and drinking my way around the town. This guide is packed with my favourite places to eat in Dingle.

However, to make sure I’m not just very easy to please, we’ve crossed-checked all of the Dingle restaurants below with reviews online to ensure every recommendation below is top-notch.

1. The Fish Box

Good God Fish Box. The only bad thing that I have to say about this place, which opened back in 2018, is that it’s a 5-hour drive from my house!

We stopped by here a couple of summers back, after the landlady in our B&B said they knock up some of the best food in Dingle – and she wasn’t wrong.

If you’re feeling adventurous, give the monkfish spice box or the fishbowl of prawns, paprika, rice, and pinto beans a bash. If you, like me, like to play it safe, the old-reliable fish’n’chips combo are a banger.

As I was feeling particularly munched on our last visit I also gave the chicken burger a go – only my food induced coma stopped me heading back for seconds.

This is, in my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Dingle for very, very good reason!

2. Solas Tapas & Wine

Solas Tapas is a little tapas joint located on Dingle’s buzzy Strand Street. It’s run by chef Nicky Foley who concocts delicious dishes using the finest locally sourced ingredients

Some of the highlights on the menu here are the chorizo and manchego croquettes, the grilled gnocchi with charred squid and the Annascaul belly of pork.

This place definitely isn’t cheap (Pinchos range between €6 and €10 with Tapas starting at €14 per plate) but few places to eat in Dingle pack a punch like it.

3. The Boatyard

Another of the more upmarket Dingle restaurants is the Boatyard and you’ll find it right across from the water.

As you stroll through its doors you’ll be greeted by a nautical-themed interior with massive wrap-around windows that make the most of the views.

As for the food, it’s all about locally sourced meats, veggies, and fish. Lobster, crab claws, clams, prawns, monkfish, calamari are just some of the catch of the day on offer.

On the meat menu, expect to find everything from the signature Kerry lamb to homemade burgers and succulent steaks. If you want to sample some of the best seafood in Dingle, head for the Boatyard.

4. My Boy Blue

My Boy Blue is a great shout for those of you wondering where to eat in Dingle for breakfast or lunch.

There’s a serious bit of brunch on offer here. On a recent visit, we opted for the chickpea and chorizo hotpot in slow cooked spicy tomato sauce and it was delish.

There’s also brunch burritos, pancakes, buffalo chicken melts and plenty more. Oh, they also do Ferrero Rocher Mochas…

Opened in 2017 by Stephen Brennan and Amy O’Sullivan, this charming spot does some of the best breakfast in Dingle along with brunch and lunch.

5. The Chart House

One of the best restaurants in Dingle to mark a special occasion is the Charthouse. A family-run restaurant, the Chart House has everything you need for a memorable fine-dining experience.

The restaurant was opened in 2000 and Head Chef Rachel Boyle is at the reigns, cooking up culinary storms on a daily basis.

Some of the highlights from the dinner menu include the Dingle Bay chowder, the cannelloni of aubergine, the pan roasted medallions of monkfish and the fillet of Kerry beef.

Keep in mind that, as this is regarded as one of the best places to eat in Dingle, booking ahead is worth considering (there are dining slots between 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm and 7.45 pm and 9.15pm).

As you’ve probably gathered by now, there is no shortage of seafood restaurants in Dingle and Doyle’s Seafood restaurant is one of the best places to enjoy the freshest of seafood in the town.

Located on John Street, this restaurant boasts a stylish and elegant décor, making it an ideal place to visit for a special occasion or a memorable date with that special someone.

When it comes to the food, the options are plentiful. Chef and proprietor Sean Roche has worked in some of the finest restaurants in Europe, so he definitely knows a thing or two about adjusting flavours and cooking up delicious meals.

From prawns and squid to lobster and crab, you’ll have an unforgettable gastronomic experience whatever you opt for.

7. Out of The Blue

Out of the Blue is another spot widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in Dingle. I’ve only every had lunch here, and it was flawless.

It’s hard to miss Out the Blue on Strand Street with it’s bold blue and yellow exterior. On the menu you can expect everything from pan fired sole on the bone and blueberry cheesecake to pollock in potato crust and lots more.

Now, it’s worth mentioning that they server only seafood here. It’s also worth making a reservation ahead of time (you can book on their website).

If you fancy a fine bit of seafood in Dingle and you’re hankering for a feed in a friendly setting with excellent service, get yourself here.

9. Ashe’s Seafood Restaurant

Ashe’s is another of our go-to Dingle restaurants. You’ll find it on the Main Street a short walk from the pier.

This is definitely one of the pricer places to eat in Dingle for mains – they start at around €22. However, we can vouch for the quality of the grub here.

On the menu you can expect to see everything from steamed Blasket Island lobster and wild mushroom risotto to Glenbeigh mussels and beef fillets.

10. Fenton’s of Dingle

Last but by no means least in our guide to the best restaurants in Dingle is the brilliant Fenton’s. This is a family-run restaurant located on Green Street.

All of the meat here is sourced from local farms while the seafood comes via providers around the peninsula.

If you fancy pushing the boat out a bit, give the lobster or the steak a bash. There’s also everything from pan-fried scallops and baked stuffed aubergine to Dingle crab and a variety of sweet treats.

Hi Keith, just wanted to say that I went to My Boy Blue based on your write-up and it was fantastic — great coffee and loved the Brunch Bap. The staff are all so super friendly. For another dinner option, I really enjoyed Fenton’s Restaurant.

As a cook for over 50 years I enjoy all types of food, everywhere. I score them all out of 10 to friends and family, to date I've only ever scored anywhere a '10' twice, the second was last Sunday 27th , and it was "out of the blue" . Superb Keith B
