Treehouse Accommodation Ireland: 9 Quirky Treehouses You Can Rent In 2024

Yes, yes, yes – you can spend a night in a treehouse accommodation in Ireland (and the majority of them are pretty damn reasonable price-wise!).

If you’ve visited this site before, you’ll know that we write a lot about unique places to kip in Ireland (see our where to stay hub if you fancy seeing more!).

However, few things are as unique as a bit of treehouse glamping. Especially if you pick the right spot!

For those of you that are sick of grabbing 40 winks in hotel rooms, the treehouse Airbnbs below should be right up your street.

The best treehouse accommodation Ireland has to offer

In the guide below, you’ll find a clatter of the best treehouse accommodation Ireland has to offer, from boutique spots to rough and ready gaffs.

Now, just keep in mind that you’ll be sleeping in a tree – in some places below, you’ll have limited electricity. In others, you’ll have limited water for flushing the jacks…

But it’s all part of the experience. Right – as usual, I’m starting to ramble. G’wan – dive on in below!

1. The Wexford Hideout

Known as ‘the Hideout’, this treehouse accommodation is set inside a beautiful wooden cabin that’s slightly elevated in the trees.

You’ll find it tucked away on a secluded section of a private home in Wexford, a stone’s throw from many of the county’s top sights.

The structure of the treehouse ensures that you can enjoy the best that the surrounding countryside has to offer – there are plenty of large windows and skylights that offer mighty views.

In fact, this unique little dwelling is so well designed that it appeared on RTÉ’s ‘The Big DIY Challenge’.

2. The West Cork treehouse (yep, that’s a hot tub)

This next place is arguably some of the most unique accommodation that Ireland has to offer. I’d gladly live in this place.

This treehouse in West Cork boasts luxury and nature combined and has been constructed 100% from sustainable materials, leaving no carbon footprint.

Nestled in the branches of spruce pines, this is a little bit of quirky luxury to base yourself in as you explore the beauty that lays all around you in West Cork.

How the owners describe it make me want to hop in the car and head there now: ‘Through the French doors you walk on to a large deck overlooking the West Cork countryside.

Here you’ll find your own, private two-person Canadian hot-tub, chairs and a table. You’ll be drawn to this area both day and night. It has a magical quality and there’s something wonderful about being up in the trees, at one with nature.’

The icing on the cake? A big aul hot tub. Just LOOK at it! See more of this treehouse (along with prices) right here.

3. RiverValley Holiday Park

Treehouse accommodation in Ireland doesn’t get much more unique than the very funky RiverValley Holiday Park in Wicklow.

Unlike the other treehouses above and below, the treehouses at RiverVally can house up to six people, which is ideal for a family or a group of friends.

There are two glamping treehouses available to rent and each is fully insulated and comes fully equipped with everything you’ll need for a solid few nights away.

You’ll also close to plenty of places to explore in Wicklow if you base yourself here for a night or three.

4. Teapot Lane

You might recognise treehouse number one from our guide to 27 of the most unique places to go glamping in Ireland.

A cosy treehouse equipped with a wood-burning stove, king size bed, wine fridge and one of those fancy Nespresso machine awaits those that visit Teapot Lane.

This glorious woodland escape is located on the borders of Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, which make it the ideal base for exploring all 3 counties in style.

4. The Birdbox

You may have heard us raving about this place before. Welcome to the very swanky Birdbox in County Donegal

This treehouse is a cosy, handcrafted structure that’s nestled in the branches of beautiful mature oak and scots pine trees.

This Airbnb boasts spectacular views towards Glenveagh that you can admire while you chill in the morning with a coffee, or with something a little stronger as the sun starts to set.

5. The Cork City Treehouse

It’s saying lot that the thing that makes this treehouse accommodation unique isn’t the fact that it’s a treehouse. Oh no!

This is a treehouse that’s slap bang in the middle of Cork City. Those that grab 40 winks here are a grand and handy 5-minute stroll to Cork City centre. Not bad at all!

This Airbnb is a fully insulated treehouse that offers travellers spectacular views out over Cork City.

For those of you that fancy staying reasonably central, you’ll be glad to hear that it’s just 5 minutes from Cork city centre. See more here.

6. The Swallow’s Return

You’ll find the Swallow’s Return in Carlingford in County Louth, a stone’s throw from many a fine walk (Slieve Foy is a fine spot for a hike) and the Carlingford Greenway.

The building (is it a building if it’s made from wood?! I feel like that’s a very stupid question to be asking!) is situated seven foot above the ground in some beautiful Sycamore trees.

It sleeps up to four guests and it’s fully insulated and comes with a fully equipped kitchen, for those of you that don’t fancy tipping into the town.
