You + A Friend Can Spend 2 Nights In This Wexford Treehouse From €158 Per Person

You’ll struggle to find a getaway as romantic as this beautiful treehouse in the Wexford countryside.

Equal parts modern and rustic, this little cabin amongst the apple trees of a private property is perfect for couples seeking a unique getaway.

At just an hour from Dublin, you can easily make it a last-minute weekend escape. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know, from its quirky features to how much a few nights will set you back.

The Hideout: a romantic treehouse getaway in Wexford

The treehouse known as ‘the Hideout’ is a beautiful wooden cabin that is slightly elevated in the trees on a secluded section of a private home in Wexford.

You can enjoy the natural surroundings at this place, with plenty of large windows and skylights to enjoy the magnificent views across the nearby hills.

In fact, this unique little dwelling is so well designed that it appeared on RTÉ’s ‘The Big DIY Challenge’.

The owners explain that “It was designed to be beautiful and comfortable; it incorporates style and function seamlessly.”

Enjoy a beautiful rural setting from the trees

The Hideout is in a secluded part of the property which means you get to enjoy the serenity of the rural setting in peace.

The view from the deck looks out over the fields beyond and it’s the perfect place to sit back at sunset to watch the sun drop (see below).

The trees that surround the house are seasonal apple trees, so if you time your visit right, you’ll be able to pluck a juicy apple right from the deck.

Even when you’re inside, you’ll be able to enjoy nature. The shower room has glass windows that make you feel as though you’re outside but don’t worry, it’s still tall enough to remain private.

The skylight above the loft bedroom is another incredible addition. You can stargaze right from the warmth of your bed. It doesn’t get any more romantic than that.

The treehouse has one bedroom and one bathroom that sleeps two people. Despite appearing a little like a glamping experience, there’s plenty of very modern touches.

Those that visit have access to a small kitchen, an electric heater, USB chargers and hot water. You’ll just have to disconnect a little with no Wi-Fi or TV.

You’ll also be able to enjoy amenities such as:

  • An indoor fireplace
  • Small kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, and microwave
  • BBQ area
  • Outdoor patio with incredible views
  • Loft bed with skylight for stargazing
  • Bathroom pod with rainfall showerhead

There is a minimum two-night stay at this place but it’s still reasonably priced for a romantic getaway in a very unique stay.

So, I put two nights for two people sharing and here’s how much it worked out at:

  • Total price: €316
  • Per person: €158
