If you’ve had a look around the where to stay in Ireland section of this site, you’ll know that we’re fond of unique accommodation.
Luckily, Ireland’s home to an endless number of unique places to stay, from houses plonked by the sea to cottages tucked away in the mountains.
The cottage below, finely located on the mighty Dingle Peninsula, offers incredible views and is a handy spin from some of the best places to visit in Kerry.
Welcome to Kilmurray Cottage
You’ll find Kilmurray Cottage in the little Gaeltacht village of Lios Póil on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, 8 km from Dingle town.
In the photo above, you’ll get a sense of the scenery that lies RIGHT OUTSIDE of this luxurious little cottage. Mad stuff altogether!
Imagine sauntering outside your front door early in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching the tangy sky emerge over the mountains as the sun starts to rise. Magic.
Take a peek inside
Kilmurray Cottage is a quaint 2 bed cottage that overlooks the Atlantic. You can admire some of the best views from some comfy armchairs in the living area.
Just look at that view above! On a clear day, you’ll be able to get a good aul eyeful of everywhere from Dingle Bay and Minard Castle to the mighty Macgillicuddy Reeks.
I can see myself happily sat on that chair in the corner with a beer, chilling as the sun sets over the cliffs.
A fine spot for a group of 4 that want to explore
This cottage is a lovely little base for those of you looking to explore a bit of Kerry on a staycation in 2020.
It’s close to plenty of the counties top attractions and it sleeps four people (prices below) in a very comfortable setting.
The cottage comes equipped with a fully kitted out kitchen, so you can save on eating out by cooking up a storm after a day of exploring. There’s also a fireplace if you visit during the colder months.
How much a night will set you back
I popped in 2 nights in March 2021 for four people sharing (note: there are no guarantee things will be back to normal by then). Here’s how much it works out at:
- Total for two nights: €375
- Total per person: €93.75
- If you fancy spending the night, you can book/lookup prices here
- If you use the link above we’ll make a tiny commission that goes towards the running of this website and you won’t pay anything extra (cheers if you do – it’s appreciated!)
So, if you stay on your own or with just one other person, this place isn’t cheap, but if there’s a few of you staying it works out pretty damn reasonable.

Hey Keith Your cottage looks fab! I just had to cancel my plans for 3 weeks in west Ireland for July - so sad about that... But when ( not IF) I do travel to Ireland again, perhaps I’ll stay with you for a bit...I too have an Airbnb offering in my home but it’s completely a write off for this year. Ah well... Until then, Sláinte Maureen Fautley

Hi Maureen! That's a killer - hopefully you'll get away again sometime soon! This isn't actually a place that I own (I wish) - we just write about the more unique accommodation on offer in Ireland.
Mind yourself.
