Finding a place to stay in Ireland with a group of friends can be tricky at the best of times.
This summer, when more people than ever are looking into taking a mini holiday in Ireland, it’s even tricker.
Tricky. But not impossible.
Below, you’ll find a gorgeous lakeside lodge in Roscommon that sleeps up to 14 people and that works out pretty damn reasonable price-wise.
Welcome to Heron’s lakeside lodge
Now, we cover a lot of unique accommodation in Ireland in the where to stay section of this site, but we’ve never come across a place with its own private lake.
You’ll find this lodge in County Roscommon where it’s tucked away in the rural Shannon countryside on 4 acres of finely manicured private grounds.
It’s big, spacious on the inside and out and it’s got plenty of areas where you can come together with a group and eat, sleep and drink.
How the host describes it

Flexible accommodation, substantial communal areas and cosy rooms this property is the perfect base to explore beautiful Ireland.
The property has bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. The master bedroom with en-suite is located downstairs, along with an additional family room and family bathroom, which has a feature Corner bath.’
How much a weekend will set you back
I’ve popped in a weekend in December (there’s no guarantee we’ll be back to normality by then!) for a family of 6 sharing. Here’s how much it’ll set you back:
- Total: €1,364
- Total per person: €227.33
- See more or book a night here
- If you use the link above we’ll make a tiny commission that goes towards the running of this website and you won’t pay anything extra (cheers if you do – it’s appreciated!)
