If you’re looking for a unique place near Dublin for a getaway with friends or family, you’ll love this farmhouse in Wicklow.
Situated on the Wicklow/Wexford border and boasting magnificent sea views along with access to a number of private beaches, this home is the perfect base for an adventure.
Close to heaps of forest walks and secluded coves, it sleeps six and comes with everything you’ll need for an active (or a very chilled) weekend away.
The icing on the cake? There’s loads of availability and it works out pretty damn cheap if you visit with a group of friends (more on the price below!).
A unique coastal farmhouse with a private beach
You’ll find this gorgeous farmhouse on the coast of County Wicklow where it’s situated on a working farm that boasts over 120 acres of trees along with a mile of coastline.
Although the farmhouse was constructed back in the 19th century, it’s fully modernised and it offers mighty views out over the wild Irish sea.
And while off the beaten path enough to give you a nice bit of privacy, it’s a handy 5-minute spin from a local pub and just 15 minutes from two busy towns.
Eh, what about the private beach?
If you’re in search of a bit of isolation for a few days with a group of friends and you’re a fan of the outdoors, this place will be right up your street.
The farmhouse provides access to not one BUT FOUR private beaches and coves. The beaches are reached via a laneway near the front of the house, so you won’t have far to stroll.
There are also numerous walking trails that you can explore if you fancy stretching the legs. The trails take you through 120 acres of nearby forest.
The perfect spot for a group getaway
This place comes with everything you’ll need for a solid little getaway with a group of friends or family.
The house comfortably sleeps six guests and there are large spaces that make kicking back together a breeze (the kitchen table sits ten and the living room sits seven).
If you visit during the colder months, you can retreat to the cosy living room (equipped with a wood-burning stove for added cosiness!) after a day spent exploring the surrounding countryside.
For those of you that visit when the weather’s good, there’s a BBQ area out back that boasts seating for six.
How much a night will set you back
There’s a load of availability for this Airbnb in October and beyond (there’s some in September, but most of the weekends are booked up).
I’ve popped in three nights (there’s a three-night minimum stay) for 6 people sharing. Here’s how much it works out at.
- Total: €773
- Per person: €128.33
- Per person per night: €42.94
