And, although some are just as pricey, many offer excellent value, once you know where to look.

This beautiful family-run guesthouse is housed in an enchanting 18th century building. Built on the grounds of a former castle, it’s located just south of the main street in Wexford town making it an incredibly convenient and charming place to stay in town.

The comfortable B&B is decorated in a period style with an open fireplace and glass dome roof in the shared lounge for guests to enjoy. 

The en-suite double rooms are also quite affordable for a weekend getaway, with a complimentary breakfast that guests often rave about for its delicious local produce.

2. Killurin Lodge

For a more secluded and peaceful stay, Killurin Lodge is nicely located between Wexford and Enniscorthy towns so you can easily explore the surrounding area.

The family-run B&B is located in the pretty Slaney Valley, with some great walks to head off on right from your door. The property also features a nice garden with outdoor patio and garden kitchen which is perfect for a summer weekend.

The private en-suite rooms are individually decorated and designed, with a homely comfort feel to them.

Just a beautiful drive south of Wexford town, you can stay in a grand, old house right next to a 15th century castle on a stunning estate in the countryside. 

This irresistible stay features elegant rooms in a 17th century guesthouse, with each room enjoying views over the garden and estate grounds.

You can also enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast every morning made with local products, before heading off to explore the area. But, the estate features a tennis court, croquet lawn, golf driving range and pitch and putt as well, meaning there’s plenty to do without even leaving your accommodation.

A beautiful retreat in the village of Wellingtonbridge, Brookvale is nicely situated between Wexford and Waterford towns. It’s also within easy reach of some stunning beaches on the south and east coast of the county.

This traditional style B&B offers double and triple rooms with private en-suites. There is also a garden room with some basic self-catering appliances and a shared lounge which is a cosy place to spend those cold afternoons.

If you don’t want to travel too far away, there’s a pub, supermarket and café within a short distance in Wellingtonbridge centre.

If you’re looking for more of a seaside escape, Tuskar House is located in Rosslare Harbour just a 10-minute walk from the beach and a 15-minute drive from Wexford town.

The clean and comfortable rooms all have a private en-suite bathroom, with some more spacious rooms available as well. If you’re travelling with a motorbike or bicycle, they have secure parking for all vehicles on the property.

There’s a shared lounge and pretty patio area for guests to use if the weather is warm, which is perfect for some outdoor dining.

For a more secluded coastal getaway, Baginbun Lodge is in Fethard on Sea, just 1.8km from Baginbun Beach. It’s a relaxing base from which to explore the rest of the wild coastline and retreat to a modern guesthouse of a night.

Perfectly located on the main street, you’ll find a gastro pub across the road and a café just down the street, so you don’t have to go too far for a feed or a pint.

The property offers a range of rooms, including family rooms for larger groups. There is also an outdoor terrace for soaking up those warmer days and enjoying your breakfast with some fresh air.

This guesthouse just 3km inland from Rosslare Harbour, is a highly regarded place to stay in Wexford. Providing the best of both worlds, with a rural countryside vibe but still just a short drive from the sea, the location is hard to beat.

The accommodation has affordable rooms all with private en-suite bathrooms and coffee and snacks on arrival after a long drive. You can enjoy the cosy lounge on the cooler evenings or explore the garden and backyard for some fresh air.

There’s plenty to do in the vicinity as well with Rosslare Beach, plenty of cycling and walking trails and Wexford town further afield.

A perfect place for an off the beaten track retreat, Sandawana is a lovely guesthouse near Our Lady’s Island, south of Rosslare Harbour. The double studio apartments are beautifully decorated with plenty of natural light and bright splashes of colour in the décor. 

You get the entire apartment to yourself, including a private bathroom, lounge area and kitchenette. There’s also a little outdoor dining area if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun.

You’ll be surprised to find plenty of beaches to choose from within a short drive, with a range of local insight and good knowledge from the friendly hosts.

This is an incredibly popular place to stay in Wexford and for good reason. Located on top of a hill in Tagoat, you can enjoy beautiful views across the surrounding countryside and down towards Rosslare Harbour from the garden.

Perfectly situated just 3km from Rosslare, you can enjoy the peaceful guesthouse and head into town for restaurants and shops. Although, you’ll also find a local pub just down the road.

Cleanly decorated in neutral colours, the rooms are comfortable, with family options available. The delicious breakfast served each morning features local and homemade produce, which can also be adapted to any special dietary needs.
