It makes a great base to explore both Mayo and Galway and, luckily enough, there are some top-notch hotels in Cong worth considering for your stay.

Ryan’s Hotel is one of the more popular hotels in Cong and you’ll find it on the Main Street. The hotel has been welcoming guests for over 150 years, although it’s changed names a few times!

Today, it’s a family-run establishment with 12 modern en-suite rooms and a traditional gastropub, The Crowe’s Nest Bar and Bistro.

Choose from single, double, twin, and family rooms (good for four), all with tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi, and a TV.

For breakfast, the hotel serves a traditional full Irish, alongside a hot and cold buffet breakfast. For lunch and dinner, guests can head to the Crowe’s Nest for Irish and international food.

2. Lydon’s Lodge Hotel

Lydon’s Lodge Hotel is another of the more popular places to stay in Cong and, like Ryan’s, it’s nice and central.

Lyndon’s is a three-star family-run hotel with a cosy restaurant and bar. They have 10 recently refurbished rooms on offer, and guests can choose from twin, double, triple, and king rooms.

However, certain triple rooms are actually good for four people, with two singles and one double bed. Each room has contemporary decor, a modern private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and a seating area.

Some rooms have a patio and some have river views. Guests can enjoy breakfast at the hotel, as well as lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant.

3. The Lodge at Ashford Castle

The Lodge at Ashford Castle is our favourite luxury accommodation in Cong! In fact, few castle hotels in Ireland can go toe-to-toe with this place.

It’s less than a five-minute drive from the town and it’s set in 350 acres of woodlands and manicured gardens, right on the banks of Lough Corrib.

Now, you can stay at the castle or the lodge. There are several rooms and suites to choose from at the lodge.

All are uniquely decorated with contemporary country decor, have lake or estate views, and a modern en-suite.

The Lake View Suites are our go-to for a romantic getaway, as each has a private terrace/balcony, and a lavish bathtub and shower. This is the best of the handful of hotels in Cong for good reason.

4. Danagher’s Hotel Cong

Just a stone’s throw from Cong Abbey, Danagher’s Hotel has cosy twin, double, and deluxe double rooms on offer. Their deluxe double room can accommodate three guests, with one single bed and one double bed.

The contemporary rooms are uniquely decorated and come equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV, and an en-suite bathroom.

The hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar which serves delicious pub grub like fish and chips and steak, in a traditional pub setting.

The bar hosts regular trad music nights and has a flat-screen TV for watching a game. If you’re looking for well-prices accommodation in Cong, check out Danagher’s.

Michaeleen’s Manor is a 2-minute drive outside of Cong, nestled in the lush Mayo countryside.

The decor of this traditional bed and breakfast is based on The Quiet Man movie, and Gerry, one of the hosts, used to be a Quiet Man Tour Guide!

At the property you can expect a delicious cooked breakfast as Margeret, Gerry’s wife, used to be a chef at Ashford Castle.

Choose from single, twin, double, and family rooms, each with an en-suite, flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Guests can also enjoy the shared lounge, garden, and one of the world’s biggest collections of The Quiet Man memorabilia.

They have budget double, double, twin, and triple rooms for rent, each uniquely decorated with traditional contemporary decor. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms, a TV, and tea and coffee making facilities.

For breakfast, guests can enjoy a delicious home-cooked full Irish alongside home-baked treats, and for lunch and dinner, there are several pubs and restaurants in Cong within walking distance.

Last but by no means least is some of the more unique accommodation in Cong. Cong Glamping is open seasonally from early May until early September.

The property is only a 2-minute drive from the village and has a full range of facilities for a comfortable stay. It’s great for families as there’s a games room, a children’s playground, and a shared lounge.

Their 5X5 metre bell tents can sleep up to four people, in two singles and one double bed. Each tent has electricity, a designated picnic table outside, and wifi access.

On-site, there are toilet and shower facilities and a fully-equipped self-catering kitchen and dining room.
