There are a handful of places to stay in Strandhill, ranging from suits and B&Bs to an excellent hostel a short stroll from the sea.
Strandhill is not just a beautiful seaside village west of Sligo Town, it’s the mecca for thrill-seekers, explorers and surfers (or anyone yearning to learn).
There’s endless things to do in Sligo by day and there’s some mighty pubs and restaurants in Strandhill to kick back in at night.

So, there are no hotels in Strandhill… yep, not one! However, there are plenty of solid places to stay that boast great reviews online.
1. Strandhill Suites

Strandhill Lodge & Suites is a family-run base for anyone who wants comfort, space, and a proper sense of place on Sligo’s coast.
Set above Strandhill Bay, it pairs generous rooms and suites with sea views, quiet nights, and an easy pace that suits both short breaks and longer stays.
The focus here is simple: well-finished accommodation, a calm atmosphere, and a location that lets Strandhill do the talking.
Whether you’re here for coastal walks, surfing, food, or just a reset away from the city, the lodge works as a comfortable anchor point. This is, in my opinion, the best accommodation in Strandhill!
2. Gala House Strandhill

Gala House Strandhill is an adults-only stay a short walk from Strandhill Beach and the village centre.
Rooms are simple, clean, and geared toward short breaks rather than luxury escapes, with strong showers, comfortable beds, and easy self check-in a recurring highlight in guest reviews.
Its biggest strength is location: you’re five minutes from the seafront, cafés, surf schools, and the bus into Sligo Town.
There’s private parking on-site and a small shop directly below, which comes in handy. If you’re looking for a no-frills base to explore Strandhill rather than somewhere to linger indoors, Gala House fits the brief well.
3. The Nest Hostel

The Nest Hostel Strandhill is one of those rare hostels that works just as well for couples and solo travellers as it does for groups.
Set right by the beach, it’s modern, bright, and exceptionally well kept, with guest reviews consistently singling out the cleanliness, welcoming staff, and generous breakfast.
Dorms and private rooms are simple but comfortable, with good beds and well-maintained shared spaces, including a large kitchen and dining area that actually gets used.
The location is a big part of the appeal: step outside and you’re immediately among Strandhill’s cafés, surf spots, and coastal walks. If you’re looking for affordable places to stay in Strandhill, look no further!
4. Surfers Getaway

Surfers Getaway is a popular, well-located base right on Strandhill’s seafront. It’s the kind of accommodation that suits people who plan to spend their time outside rather than in their room.
The setup is simple and informal, with comfortable spaces that work well for short stays, early starts, and days shaped around the beach, walks, or a surf session.
Being so close to the village means food, coffee, and pubs are all within easy reach, and the sea is never more than a minute away.
This isn’t about luxury or layers of service. It’s about being in the right place, with everything you need and nothing unnecessary getting in the way.
5. Lilac Lodge

Having opened in recent years, Lilac Lodge is one of the newest places to stay in Strandhill, and the initial reviews are excellent.
This is a well-designed, three-bedroom holiday home that’s clearly been set up for real stays rather than quick turnovers.
Inside, the layout is practical and comfortable, with space for families or small groups to spread out, cook properly, and settle in.
There’s a warm, lived-in feel throughout, from the sitting room to the bedrooms, and everything you’d expect for a longer stay is already in place.
It works just as well for a relaxed weekend by the sea as it does for a few nights built around walks, surfing, or slow mornings and late dinners back at the house.
