Strandhill is not just a beautiful seaside village west of Sligo Town, it’s the mecca for thrill-seekers, explorers and surfers (or anyone yearning to learn).
There’s endless things to do in Sligo by day and there’s some mighty pubs and restaurants in Strandhill to kick back in at night.
But first, you need a place to stay. In the guide below, you’ll find a mix of B&Bs, hotels and hotels in Strandhill (and nearby) that make a great base for an adventure.
Our favourite accommodation in Strandhill
So, there are no hotels in Strandhill… yep, not one! However, there are plenty of solid places to stay that boast great reviews online.
Note: if you book a hotel through one of the links below we’ll make a tiny commission that helps us keep this site going. You won’t pay extra, but we really do appreciate it.
1. Strandhill Lodge, Hostel & Surf
Now, some people might be dissuaded from staying in a hostel, however, this place is a world apart from the 20+ person dorms you tend to get in capital cities.
Firstly, there are plenty of private rooms, secondly, the maximum dorm capacity is 4 persons (great for two couples), thirdly, it’s the only lodging right next to the seafront (only 100m to Strandhill Beach).
There are also loads of private rooms here, which are cheaper than a hotel. The hostel also runs as a surf school, with fully certified instructors ready to show you the ropes(or waves rather).
If you’re in search of accommodation in Strandhill a stone’s throw from the water, you can’t go wrong with Strandhill Lodge.
