There are some mighty places to eat in Trim, regardless of whether you fancy a handy bite-to-go or a slap-up sit-in meal with a view of Trim Castle.
From popular spots, like StockHouse Restaurant, to Trim restaurants where you can grab a feed and a cocktail, like Franzinis, there’s lots to choose from.
The best restaurants in Trim
The first section of our guide to the best restaurants in Trim looks at our favourite places to eat in Trim.
These are pubs and restaurants that we (one of the Irish Road Trip team) have munched away in at some point over the years. Dive on in!
1. StockHouse Restaurant
StockHouse Restaurant is located in the centre of Trim, less than a 5-minute ramble from the castle.
The interior combines modern comfort with classic charm, featuring deep red booths, cosy leather chairs, and a relaxed yet vibrant tone.
Menu highlights include the crispy potato skins loaded with cheddar, mozzarella, and bacon, and the succulent 28-day aged steaks served with your choice of sides and sauces.
Don’t miss the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which pairs perfectly with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a Baileys-infused treat.
2. Khan Spices Indian Restaurant
Khan Spices Indian Restaurant in Trim offers a welcoming atmosphere with its charming, rustic decor and warm, earthy tones.
The interior features elegant wooden floors, high-backed chairs, and tasteful decorations that add to the cosy, inviting feel.
Menu highlights include the Tandoori King Prawns, marinated in a spiced yoghurt mix, and the creamy Chicken Tikka Masala, a favourite among regulars.
For a vegetarian delight, the Saag Paneer, with fresh spinach and homemade cheese, is a must-try.
3. Rosemary Bistro
Rosemary Bistro is another of the more popular places to eat in Trim and it offers a welcoming and relaxed dining experience.
The setting features warm wooden decor, soft lighting, and tasteful accents that create a laid-back yet elegant vibe.
Menu standouts include the Southern Fried Chicken Fillet Wrap, served with a tangy BBQ sauce, and the “Smoky Burger,” topped with cheddar, smoked bacon, and a house-made BBQ sauce.
For something more classic, the Tagliatelle Carbonara, rich with chicken, bacon, and a creamy Parmesan sauce, is a must-try.

4. Flambé (previously Franzinis)
Flambé, nestled beside Trim Castle, is a modern dining destination known for its warm Irish hospitality and creative cuisine.
The recently renovated space combines contemporary design with an intimate feel, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
Menu highlights include the rich and flavourful Beef Bourguignon and the Penne A La Vodka, which can be enhanced with chicken or prawns.
Desserts like the Chocolate Fondant provide a decadent end to your meal, making Flambé a top choice for food lovers in Trim looking for both comfort and flair.
5. The Bailey Bar
The Bailey Bar is arguably the most unique of the many Trim restaurants and a quick glance at the photo above should give you an idea as to why!
You’ll find this place right in front of Trim Castle in the Trim Castle Hotel. Here, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Trim Castle while munching away.
The menu offers a wide selection of Irish home-cooked meals with an Asian and European twist. From 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm, you can try the Bailey Bars’ set menu.
6. Brogan’s Bar & Hotel
If you love live music, then make sure to drop into Brogan’s Bar.
Located to the north of the town, Brogan’s holds regular live music sessions with local musicians and well-known acts taking to the stage.
Their menu is varied and has options for vegetarians, vegans and celiacs (there’s even a dedicated burger menu in The Loft – their live music venue).
At Brogan’s, you’ll also find a tasty breakfast menu offering scrambled eggs, french toast and granola, as well as a peach of a brunch menu!
7. Rococo Restaurant (Knightsbrook Hotel)
Situated inside the Knightsbrook Hotel, just outside Trim, Rococo’s is an elegant restaurant that dishes up a fusion of Irish and international dishes (the menu is regularly updated to feature the best seasonal ingredients).
Rococo’s has an a la carte menu, a set menu and a kids menu. On their a la carte menu you’ll find delicious starters such as black pudding potato cake, warm beetroot and goats’ cheese salad and plenty more.
For mains, expect everything from fresh grilled lobster and chicken to thick steaks, veggie options and a wide variety of sides. There’s also a very popular Sunday carvery, too.

8. Jack Quinn’s
Jack Quinn’s is located in Scurlockstown, a short 5-minute drive from Trim.
It has everything you would expect from an old Irish pub; Big frames with vinyl, old pictures decorating the walls, red velvet stools and, of course, Guinness on tap!
The menu is much smaller than many of the other Trim restaurants, but the dishes are delicious and prepared with care. There are four main dishes here :
- The steak sandwich
- The oriental chicken stir-fry
- The Asian infused tiger prawns
- A vegetable pasta
9. Takeaways galore
There are several takeaways in the town that’d go toe-to-toe with some of the more popular restaurants in Trim.
One of the more popular spots is Once Upon a Thai, a food truck located in the north of Trim at Navan Gate.
Another solid option is the Castle Takeaway which has racked up an impressive 4.5/5 from 195+ Google reviews. Finally, Hot n Tender on Emmet Street is a solid option for pizzas, burgers, kebabs.
