I clearly remember the day when a neighbour of mine had a treehouse built at the end of their garden in my estate in Swords in Dublin.
I was about 5 at the time and it seemed like the single greatest thing on earth.
Fast forward more years than I’d care to admit and I’m gazing at Braille House in Kilkenny with the same longing that used to consume me all those years ago.
18+ years later and I still want a damn treehouse… this one, preferably
Welcome to Braille House – a treehouse that’s a leisurely 10-minute walk from the centre of Kilkenny town.
This warm and cosy rental is masterfully decorated and looks a little bit like a cabin you’d expect to find nestled on the side of a snowy mountain in Canada.
What the hosts say
‘The Braille House is a treehouse built at the bottom of a long garden, it’s about 1.5 metres off the ground. It’s very close to the centre of Kilkenny City and bus and train stations.
Though only a 10-minute walk from the City and its attractions, secluded by trees and birdsong, the treehouse feels as though you’re in a rural retreat with a uniquely perfect urban/rural balance.’
