This eco-friendly treehouse is an incredibly magical place to stay on the Wild Atlantic Way.
The wooden cabin is nestled in the pine trees of a property in West Cork and offers a romantic escape for two.
Far from a rough camping experience, this comfortable treehouse is more of a luxurious stay amongst the trees with your very own hot tub.
A very unique stay in West Cork
Treehouse 3 is one of a number wooden treehouses scattered on the same property in the West Cork countryside (this one is also pretty incredible).
It’s accessed by a magical footbridge that feels like its been whipped straight from the set of a Walt Disney movie.
You shouldn’t underestimate the rustic cabin from the outside though, as the interior is surprisingly luxurious with plenty of space and all the amenities you’ll need for a comfortable stay.
A beautiful open-plan interior
The living, sleeping and dining area is all open plan under the exposed pitched roof beams. You’ll find a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom and self-contained kitchen decorated with quirky and rustic touches.
There’s a roll-top bath that sits in the middle of the cottage beside glass windows so you can gaze straight out into the surrounding woods.
From indoors you can also look out through the glass French doors onto the cosy deck area outside. For the eco-conscious traveller, it’s also been built from 100% sustainable materials meaning you can feel good about a stay here too.
A glorious outdoor hot tub
One of the highlights of a stay at this place is, of course, the outdoor hot tub on the deck. The private two-person Canadian hot tub is built into the outdoor area to enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.
You’ll also find a table and chairs on the deck so you can dine outdoors too. It’s the perfect spot no matter what time of day to enjoy the surrounding nature and completely relax.
What you can expect if you visit
The one-bedroom treehouse offers plenty of amenities for a completely self-sufficient and cosy stay. You can expect the following:
- King sized bed
- Self-catering kitchen with oven, fridge, sink and microwave
- Spacious and open plan lounge and dining area
- Walk in, hot shower and flushing toilet
- Indoor bathtub
- Satellite TV, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speaker
- Large deck with views across the countryside
- Canadian hot tub for two people on the outdoor deck
- Surrounding garden accessible for exploring on foot
How much a night will set you back
This pretty place is a reasonably priced stay for a couple. It’s slightly cheaper for a mid-week getaway but there’s a two-night minimum stay at all times.
So, I put in two nights for two people sharing on a weekend and here’s how much it worked out at (note: prices may change):
- Total price: €378
- Per person: €189
- Per person per night: €94.50
