Voted the best pizzeria in Ireland, and the best takeout pizzeria in Europe, Dough Bros are widely considered to do the best pizza in Galway City.

With amazingly fresh ingredients, their wood-fired pizzas are made to order right in front of you as you wait. Expert pizza chefs knead and spin the dough as you sip one of their very own craft beers at the bar.

The restaurant is laid back with a fantastic atmosphere, full of quirky decor and walls adorned with awards and in-house photos.

Meanwhile, the pizzas themselves are simply sumptuous, made using traditional Neapolitan techniques and garnished with a huge array of toppings.

Of course, you’ll find some great sides, like cheesy garlic bread, as well as a host of refreshments, from wine and cocktails to craft beer and cider.

Sitting in the centre of the city, Woozza is a lovely little Italian bistro that packs a big punch. The Italian chefs cook amazing, authentic thin-crust pizzas in a gorgeous wood-fired oven.

You can choose from a huge range of fresh toppings and the pizzas are nice and big. Don’t worry, though, they’ll happily do half and half if you want to share yours.

As well as pizza, they have gorgeous calzone, amazing sharing platters, and a range of tasty pasta dishes. And be sure to save a little space for dessert, a variety of gorgeous chocolate pizzas.

They’re also one of a few pizza restaurants in Galway that offer gluten-free, as well as vegan, pizzas, so there’s something for everyone.

A range of Italian beers and wines rounds off the menu. Inside, the space can easily accommodate large groups but can also be set up with several smaller tables instead.

While still boasting a city centre location, Pizza & Pasta Napoli is tucked away off the main road, providing something of a hidden gem. You’ll be glad that you discovered it as soon as you walk through the door, though.

This is a no-fuss Galway pizza spot, and while there is some seating inside, as well as a few outdoor tables, most folks enjoy getting takeaway from here.

In fact, a huge slice of amazing, authentic Napoli pizza and a drink for less than five euros is the reason I can’t keep away.

It’s perfect if you’re on the go, but you can also grab a whole pizza and eat in or stay outside on a fine day. Either way, you’ll enjoy great service from an amazing team.
