7 Places Dishing Up The Best Breakfast In Dingle

There’s some great spots for breakfast in Dingle, regardless of what you’re in the mood for.

From hearty full-Irish brekkies to fluffy pancakes, this lively town has something to tickle most tastebuds.

And, while certain brekkie spots tend to get much of the attention online, this is far from a 1-or-2-horse-town.

Below, you’ll find our go-to spots from breakfast in Dingle, from the mighty My Boy Blue to the unbeatable views at the Coastguard.

It’s worth keeping in mind that if you’re visiting during the summer months, many of these places will be busy at peak times!

1. My Boy Blue

My Boy Blue looks unassuming from the outside, but don’t pass it by, as the grub here is delicious! If you’re someone who needs their morning coffee, you can look forward to an extensive coffee menu here.

It has all the classics like cappuccinos or Americanos, but it also has quirky options like iced Ferrero Rocher mochas (yes, please), and matcha lattes.

Their breakfast menu has more of a brunch vibe, with items like buttermilk pancakes as well as things like buffalo chicken melts.

Their chickpea and chorizo hotpot sounds divine with spiced tomato sauce, feta, roasted red peppers, and spinach. This is, in our opinion, the best place for breakfast in Dingle for good reason!

2. James Long Gastro Pub

James Long Gastro Pub is a cosy trad bar located along the Dingle Marina. It has two bars, but the one upstairs has the best views of the pier, harbour, and marina.

They have a carefully selected breakfast menu packed with breakfast classics. The James Long’s Full Irish Breakfast is a must-try, and for any vegetarians out there, they do a vegetarian breakfast so you don’t have to miss out!

There is a nice list of optional extras if you like customising (or super-sizing) your breakfast with items like smoked salmon, guacamole, or bacon (there’s always room for more bacon).

The Coastguard Restaurant is located inside the Dingle Skellig Hotel just on the end of the town.

The restaurant has big windows to take in the amazing views of Dingle Bay and there’s some outdoor seating too.

You’ll find traditional breakfast items like a traditional Irish breakfast, pancakes, and waffles. If you fancy breakfast in Dingle with a fine view, look no further!

4. An Cupan Tae

An Cupan Tae is on Dingle harbour and if you can nab a spot outside on the patio, you’ll have great views to watch the world go by.

It’s a quaint little cafe that serves up good coffee and teas and has an unpretentious breakfast menu.

Head here if you want a light bite like a scone or a slice of homemade cake, or something heartier like an Irish Breakfast or scrambled eggs served with beans on toast.

5. Dingle Diner

The Dingle Diner is right in the centre of Dingle, and you’ll notice it straight away by its colourful orange and yellow paint job!

There are a few tables outside on the patio or plenty of indoor seating. They have a breakfast menu that is served until 12, but if you want a Full Irish, that’s served all day long.

This is a great budget option as their prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are fairly large. For breakfast, they serve a Full Irish, a mini breakfast, pancakes, or a bagel with cream cheese and bacon.

One for the coffee connoisseurs out there, Bean in Dingle is a family-run establishment serving top-notch coffee. They roast their beans in-house and serve up a range of caffeinated drinks.

Alongside their tasty drinks, they dish up food made from locally sourced ingredients. Some must-try bites are their to-die-for cinnamon buns or their sausage rolls (both plain and black pudding).

For something healthier, chow down on their avocado toast or porridge with healthy toppings!

7. Goat Cafe

You’ll find The Goat Cafe on the Main Street, not far from Foxy John’s, one of the more popular pubs in Dingle.

There’s some delicious bits and bobs on offer here, but the pick of the bunch, in our opinion, is the breakfast tostadilla with bacon, egg, sausage, cheese, pudding and salad.

There’s also daily specials, buttermilk pancakes, poached eggs and plenty more healthy and hearty options.
