Since kicking off a series that brings you the most unique accommodation in Ireland, we’ve come across some very funky places to stay.
However, few places can go toe-to-toe with the aptly named ‘Wild Rooms’ in the stunning Tara Hill Estate in County Wexford.
Breathtaking views, a cosy interior and an outdoor rainforest shower that overlooks the surrounding countryside combine to make this a great spot for a getaway.
Below, you’ll find everything from photos and what to expect if you visit from how much a night will set you back. Dive on in!
Welcome to the Wild Rooms at Tara Hill
You’ll find the quirky ‘Wild Rooms’ inside the Tara Hill Estate in Gorey in Wexford, around 80 minutes from Dublin and 85 minutes from Kilkenny.
Described as a ‘uniquely designed outdoor living experience’, the ‘Wild Rooms’ are said to be ‘Posh rooms in the Wilderness’.
They’ve been crafted using the finest of materials and the interiors are well heated. They also offer stunning views out over the surrounding area from a big aul window which the bed faces.
What to expect if you visit
Each Wild Room comes fully equipped with a working kitchen and all the amenities you could need, along with speedy WiFi and underfloor heating.
Breakfast is delivered fresh to you on the day you arrive and there’s even an outdoor rainforest shower where you can soak up views (see photo below).
How the hosts describe it
‘Each Wild Rooms location is specifically chosen based on the elements around it. Like the exquisite fractals found in nature, the Wild Rooms are meant to permeate quiet strength and beauty and reveal their uniqueness the closer you get.
The Wild Rooms have been designed with the highest quality to detail in mind. From the sustainably sourced exterior cladding, to the hand upholstered seating areas.
From the moment you arrive you will feel that unmistakable vibe of peace and contentment, and the comforting warm familiarity of an old friend.’
