It’s not often that a hotel can claim to have a world-class championship golf club, but Adare Manor can! Due to host the Ryder Cup in 2027, this prestigious course is masterfully designed to truly challenge avid golfers who expect only the best – regardless of their personal achievement level. With a pro shop, clubhouse, and regular tournaments, there are many reasons why this is an ever-popular course to enjoy year-round.

4. The woodland walk

In Irish, the name Adare means Áth Dara or the ford of the Oak Tree, and trees have long since been associated with the region, as too their magic. The woodland at Adare Manor is a prime example of woodland that’s been deliberately left alone, to mature, to pass through time and seasons unaltered by human hands. It’s because of this that the woodland walk is so magical, with poet’s huts, reflection pools, and a few ceramic installations for you to discover, it’s a walk that will take you to another world.

5. Archery

Escape the 21st century and try out Robin Hood’s shoes on this exceptional archery range. With a selection of modern-style recurve or the traditional Medieval-style longbows for you to try, you can also take advantage of Adare Manor’s experienced instructors in perfecting your technique; from choosing the right setup, how to hold the bow, knocking your arrows, aiming for the target, and ultimately hitting that bullseye.

6. Axe throwing

An ancient art with reinvigorated modern enthusiasm, axe throwing has increased in popularity in recent years. But, there’s more to this skill than blindly hurling a dangerous weapon at a target. Learn from Adare Manor’s experienced instructors and master the art so that you have a great time, stay safe, and hit that target each and every time. Bookings are essential and should be made 24hrs in advance, and participants must be 12yrs old and over.

7. Falconry

Majestic birds of prey will be within touching distance as you experience an art form that dates back hundreds of years. Once the sport of royalty, falconry has become alive once more through displays at larger estates, like Adare Manor. Here, you’ll be able to interact with a range of owls and eagles from around the world. Each of the eight birds is lovingly cared for, and a selection of birds will be available at each falconry session.

8. Picnics

With ornate French Gardens, painstakingly maintained formal gardens, and pristine parklands to explore, what better way could there be than to pause and enjoy a sumptuous meal in these spellbinding surroundings? There are three specially tailored menus to choose from to suit the occasion and are ideal for sharing with friends and family, a belated birthday, or sharing with that special someone to say ‘I love you’.

9. The cinema

Screening a variety of movies each day, the Adare Movie cinema is a great way to sit back, relax and catch up on either a Hollywood classic or a contemporary blockbuster. The screen is a massive 140″, and with the deep and comfortable leather seats in their elegant surroundings, it’ll be a bigger cinematic experience you’ve had since Ben Hur hit the screen.
