17 Gorgeous Salthill Apartments That Make The Perfect Base For Exploring Galway

If you’re in search of some brilliant Salthill Apartments to kick-back in this summer, you’ve landed in the right place.

I love the freedom staying in an apartment gives you.

Now, it’s not as if the staff in one of the many hotels in Galway will be watching your comings and goings, but sometimes an apartment gives you that extra sense of freedom.

Below, you’ll find the best apartments Salthill has to offer, from ocean view suites to cosy homes at the centre of town.

There’s heaps of things to do in Salthill and a finely kept apartment is a great place to base yourself from for a few nights.

Below, you’ll find a mix of Salthill apartments to rent, with everything from luxury stays to cheap and cheerful places to relax in.

Note: if you book a stay through one of the links below we’ll make a tiny commission that helps us keep this site going. You won’t pay extra, but we really do appreciate it.

1. A 4th floor apartment with bay views

Living in the most land-locked county in the country makes me hanker for the sea, with the whiff of seaweed and the way you can see the horizon dipping towards land when you’re still a while away.

Imagine therefore how it felt to walk into this apartment with its (almost) wall of windows and have Galway Bay spread out before me! I’d be quite happy to just park on the balcony and have someone let me know when it’s time to leave.

The location is great too, and the apartment is immaculate and modern. Sleeping 5 people, this is one of several great Salthill apartments for a group getaway.

2. Bedroom Penthouse with roof top terrace

Next up is one of the fanciest apartments Salthill has to offer (just look at those views!). On a mission to find every space with a sea view, this Penthouse apartment has a rooftop terrace!

If the weather is bad and you can’t get out to the Terrace, the windows are floor to ceiling, so you won’t miss a bit of the majesty that is Galway Bay and The Burren.

The apartment has everything you might want or need for a long or short stay with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 4, and digital TV with free Wi-Fi.

One bedroom is a King with the other being a twin room, and there are two bathrooms, and all are spacious.

Another apartment with wonderful views from your private balcony out over Galway Bay and The Burren.

If your preference for eating is to go out, you’re close to everything and if you want to stay in, the kitchen is fully equipped.

There’s an option to have 1 King room and 1 Twin, or 2 Twins if you request, and if they’re available. Great value and great location.

Your requirements include a central location but not in the city, secure parking, spacious living area, spotlessly clean, and Netflix on the TV.

Tick all those boxes because this apartment provides all you’re looking for. Add in the bonus of the Galway Bay views and you’re onto a winner.

With all the little touches that you won’t find elsewhere (a box of chocolate fingers for the kids), you feel that you’re somewhere special.

Just what it says on the tin, this apartment is brand new and sparkles in its cleanliness. You’ll find everything you need within a 5-minute walk and if you feel like stretching your legs, Galway City is only about 15 minutes away.

2. Two-bed Standard Apartment with Sea Views

one of the best apartments in salthill

I’m still of the opinion that an apartment with sea views is not standard, but we’ll run with it. It’s 80m² of modern, comfortable living, and the large windows and balcony provide those views right across to the Clare Mountains.

With free parking and Wi-Fi, fully fitted kitchen, 32-inch TV in a comfortable lounge, you’re all set for either a short or a long stay.

On the Promenade, the location is excellent for enjoying the local bars and eateries, and if you want to pop into Galway City, it’s only 10 minutes by bus from right outside the apartment.

a great spot for groups

Bright, exceptionally clean, and modern, this apartment would suit couples travelling with or without children. It’s close to all the amenities with the Aquarium, amusements, and playground all on your doorstep.

The pubs, cafes and restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk, making this apartment the perfect location for a holiday.

For those times when you want to relax, there are wide views over Galway Bay from the living area, and a balcony if you want to smell the sea air. The hosts are informative and helpful, and the consensus is that return trips are on the horizon.

It’s a 40-minute walk to Galway City or a 2-minute walk to the bus stop. The house is stylish and ultra-clean and is within walking distance of everything Salthill offers.

The relaxed and cozy atmosphere might make you stay right where you are, though. The host is responsive without being intrusive, and visitors look forward to returning.

2. The Townhouse (one of the best Salthill apartments for a big group)

Boasting 4 En-suite bedrooms, this house is in the heart of Salthill. Whether it’s a family trip or a group getaway, you won’t be disappointed. Seriously, it’s gorgeous.

Regardless of whether it’s a long or short stay, there’s loads of room, even with 8 people. The main bus route into Galway is just outside, and it’s only a 25-minute walk into the City (or a 5-minute drive).

When you must travel as a crowd, it’s great to know there’s somewhere like this in the location you’re looking for. And that’s why people keep going back.

3. Three-bed Penthouse with Views to The Burren

one of our favourite salthill apartments

Photos via Airbnb

We’re going to round off our guide to the best apartments in Salthill with another penthouse apartment that offers stunning sea views.

This Penthouse apartment is meant to be relished, from the open-plan living area with floor to ceiling windows, to the large terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by while you sip a cold one.

All the beds are King size and 2 of the bedrooms have a walk-in shower while the third has a bath/shower combo.

Whatever the weather (and we know it can be like you’re in the Mediterranean today and Iceland tomorrow!), you’ll still have a great time.
